Producing a physical good is one of the oldest forms of trade. Originally carried out by skilled artisans, the industrial revolution changed production from single artifact to mass assembly. Even the most basic products today require an intricate set of parts, procedures, and people to make them work, especially at scale.

Watching the manufacturing process happen is both inspiring and terrifying. No matter how simple it may look from the outside, it’s the way it works, the way it’s made, and all the tiny details involved – that make production one of the most challenging problems to solve. But when it finally comes together you feel this tremendous sense of accomplishment.

We started Moment last August with some big ideas and a few sketches in a notebook. Working through dozens of prototypes and production samples, we can’t tell you how excited we are to be manufacturing our first units. This phase of the design process is by far the most tedious, making it extremely exhausting. However, it’s this stage in the game that can make or break the final quality of your product.
